Arnold Friberg
"I consider it an indispensable day to dose this last solemn act of
my official life, to commending the interests of our dearest country to
the protection of Almighty God and those who have the superintendency of
them into His holy keeping."

Lee Bogle
Lee Bogle's paintings reflect his love for the organic image. Working
with muted, atmospheric colors he captures the precise details of nature
and the expressive quality of light in his native Northwest.
For Bogle, the process of creating a painting is organic. He starts
each piece with a background wash of watercolor. This background is a spontaneous
application of color which forms the foundation for the painting's development.
Nature itself may become part of the process with weeds or thistles used
to apply the watercolor. The forms and shapes which emerge guide Bogle
toward the subject of the painting.

Through the rainbow-hued mists of time we travel the sacred circled
road sustained by promises from Wakan Tanka and the visions in our dreams.
Our spirits seek the solace of sweetgrass where voices of our ancestors
whisper in the wind urging us to continue on the Journey of Renewal. |
