The name, Dona Gelsinger is rapidly becoming one of "THE"
names in her particular field of artistic endeavor. Her style and natural ability to
capture intimate and delicate moments on canvas sets her well apart from her
contemporaries. Dona and her family, husband Brian and son Jesse, reside in Southern
Oregon. Another son, Jacob, who is an angel, died at birth. Sometimes, if you look
carefully, you may find a J or an angel somewhere in the painting. Hence, the name
"Little Angel Publishing." "Fire Light" I was inspired to create this painting by the many stories told by my grandmother about
raising a family during the Depression. If any one thing symbolized early Americana it has
to be the American automobile. In the scene, I was able to use my husbands 1929
Model A. Come along with this family in their roadster on a nostalgic trop back into the
thirties and join them by the fire for an evening picnic in the forest of the magnificent
Northwest. Hold your hand out toward the painting and you can almost feel the warmth
radiating from the fore. As the last remnants of the day fade away to twilight, the soft
pine scented breeze brings tranquility and solitude to this your couple and their
children. "Lifes Little Tangles" A balmy evening on the lake; fish jumping, the air sweetened by the scent of pine, and the soft glow of a lantern combine to bring about a perfect setting for father and son to enjoy the outdoors together. In this painting, "Lifes Little Tangles," Dad is helping his son untangle a backlash, the nemesis of all fishermen young or old, whole the old dog has her attention focused on a fish that just jumped. The cabin across the lake has turned on lights to welcome the coming darkness. Whole tendrils of smoke from the fire for the evening meal spiral upward from the chimney. |
