 If you travel deep into the back country of the High Sierra, you might find artist Mark Gudmundsen scrambling up some rugged peak or rock face to obtain a new perspective view, or sitting along an obscure stream studying the flora and rock structure. You may find him absorbing a famous landmark view in one of America's National Parks, or painting in what he calls his studio, (actually the elegant lobby of Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite). There he paints most of his paintings in public before an ensemble of lodge guests intrigued by the skill of his brush.   
I feel the art before it happens says Derosa, I am shown a glimpse of a finished piece, yet the art changes as it progresses. I am always pleasantly surprized by the results. The creativity and style of this fine artist is sure to capture the hearts of many!!  Good Ol Daze welcomes Judy and her newest print "Dreams of My Brothers"

Jane Gyer

 

Mrs. Gyer has twice received the National Parks Service Directors Award, and she has served as "Artist in the Park" for Yosemite and Rocky Mountain National Parks. Jane has been featured as one of the Yosemite Artists on the Today Show on NBC.

Before enrolling at California College of Arts and Crafts, Richard studied under his father and other SanFrancisco Bay Area Artists.  He set aside pursuit of an art career to enter the Christian ministry,and began painting again in 1995. With encouragement and  instruction from artists in the Yosemite area, he has won a variety of awardsincluding Yosemite Western Artists, "Best of Show" and has exhibeted in a widening circle of galleries.
