| Michelle Marco is a native Californian and has chosen to reside in the rural Yosemite
area. Michelle has studied art at Modesto Junior College and University of California,
Stanislaus. While mostly self-taught, Michelle has studied with local artists. While
assisting her husband in running their business for 15 years, she scaled back her business
work when daughter Jillian was born. Now Jillian and art are Michelle's priorities. Discovery is what Michelle is doing in each of her paintings, and her medium is pastels. With pastels she finds no wasted time spent cleaning brushes, mixing or waiting for paint to dry. Her love for nature is expressed in her work and those moments in nature that pass quickly, she finds most challenging. Occasionally, Michelle also works in watercolor, pencil, and pen & ink. Michelle Marco's works have won many awards in shows, and one of her paintings hangs in the California State Capitol. Her work is in private collections throughout the U.S., as well as Timberline Gallery, Oakhurst, CA., Mariposa County Arts Council, Mariposa, CA, and Sheffields in Cambria, CA. |
