Male donkeys are jacks. This one is named Elrod. Since he was gelded, he has a very nice disposition. He also has good conformation. Elrod and Smokey live in the same field, and play tag and other games all day long. Jacks can be very loud, especially if a nearby jenny is in heat. That's why donkeys are nicknamed "mountain canaries." |
