Meeting called to order:  0735 hrs by Ed Guzman

Minutes:  August, 2005 minutes approved

Presentation: Ed Guzman showed a power point program from FEMA about Hurricane Katrina with facts and figures.  

Discussion regarding how Eastern Madera County would fare in the event of this type of disaster was then discussed.

There was discussion about the Health Fair from Jeannie Garza (Health Fair Coordinator) explaining what some of the vendors will present and where they will be located within the exhibit area. 

There was discussion about whether the Sheriff’s Command Vehicle will be brought to the Volunteer Expo.  Size is a concern for the parking area; the smaller vehicle may be brought up instead.  The COP support vehicle will be available also.

During the Peddler’s Fair, twelve (12) new people signed-up.  Discussion about Janet sending letter to previous sign-up participants.  There may be nearly 75-100 total.

Set-up for the Health Fair/Volunteer Expo will be at 0730 hrs, Sunday, September 18, 2005 .

Sierra Ambulance has been asked to send relief personnel to help Mercy Ambulance (Mariposa).  No decision was confirmed at this time.           

Next meeting scheduled:    Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 0730 hrs – Sierra Ambulance Training Headquarters, Oakhurst.
