With a background in professional photography and graphic arts, Diane Astier always dreamed of devoting her full time to art. So when she and her husband retired to the Sierra Foothills just south of Yosemite in 1990, that's exactly what she did. After many visits to galleries both in the United States and in Europe, she decided to focus on Watercolor painting. Diane has studied with Marilyn Simandle, Jane Gyer, LaVere Hutchings, and many more well known artists over the years. Astier says, "Painting in watercolors is a learning process that just keeps evolving." She specializes in architectural renderings and florals, but also enjoys still life and landscapes. Diane's lyrical style creates a sense of emotion, warmth and light. As a signature member of the Society of Western Artists, she has been honored with many first place and best of show awards in both regional and major shows. She teaches "Basic Drawing" at the Brumley Art Center in Coarsegold, California, where she exhibits her work. Diane is also represented by the Madera Arts Council at the Circle Gallery in Madera, and the Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst, California. | Diane Astier portfollio | | Maggie Elliott | Brian Kincade | Lola Nelson | Hazel Robinson | Calvin Lyster | Judy DeRosa | Diane Astier | Ronna Adler | Mary Jane Campbell-Mann | Ginny Burdick | Gloria Jacobson | Chris Sorensen | Chris Malicoat | Mark Gudmundsen | Dorothy Morris | Mina Pratt | Dixie Zoeller | JoAnn Huffman | Terry Lowe | Merylyn Whited | AnitaStoll | | Return Home | Artists | Map | Local Tourist Links | Contact Us | Latest News | |
