About the Artist

Art has woven a rich thread of aesthetic perception throughout Ronna's life. She has lived in Oakhurst for over 25 years. Her love of art and painting goes back to childhood.

It started with watercolor at age 19, while attending Orange Coast College, she won a summer scholarship to study art. She earned her B.A. Degree at Idaho State University along with a California teaching Credential in art from the University of California Santa Barbara.

Ronna'a awards include the Award of Distinction Mariposa Arts Council Fall Event, 1st Prize in the "2000 Celebrate Agriculture with Arts" show, Honorable Mention at the Society of Western Artists, and Judges' Award at Yosemite Western Artists 9th annual Art Show. She also wins regularly in the ACA Salute to Agriculture Shows.

Among the many artists she has studied with are: Jane Gyer, Jane Burnham, Jade Fon, Monty Guynes, Joan Brumley and Eqestrian Art with Joan McIntyre for 2 years. Ronna loves horses and keeps two at her home.

Ronna has worked as a professional landscape contractor for 12 years where her art background helped her create and design many beautiful landscapes. Many people in the mountain area know her as the "Landscape Lady." Others in the horse world might call her the "Galloping Grandma":!
