Email Setup – Mac OS 10.5 and Newer

  1. Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
  2. If the “Welcome to Mail” assistant appears, skip to step 6.
  3. In the menu bar, click on Mail, then click on Preferences.
  4. Click on Accounts.
  5. Click on the + in the bottom, left corner of this window.
  6. Click in the Description field and type your full e-mail address.
  7. Click in the Email Address field and type your full e-mail address.
  8. Click in the Full Name field and type the name you would like people to see on e-mail messages they receive from you. This could be your real name, a nickname, a business name, or whatever you would like.
  9. Click in the Incoming Mail Server field and type mail.sti.net
  10. Click in the User Name field and type your e-mail username.
  11. Click in the Password field and type your e-mail password.
  12. Click in the Outgoing Mail Server field and type mail.sti.net.
  13. Click on Advanced.
  14. Leave “Use default ports” selected.
  15. Leave Use Secure Sockets Layer unchecked.
  16. Choose Password for the Authentication type.
  17. Type your username and password.
  18. Click the OK button.
  19. Verify your settings in the Account summary screen and if everything is correct, click Create.
