MARKETING AND SALES ASSOCIATE

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for drafting, developing, defining, and executing marketing plans, programs, and strategies for the area market segments. The Marketing and Sales Associate supports customer acquisition and revenue generation by building brand awareness, developing and managing marketing campaigns, and guiding potential buyers through the sales funnel to close deals. This position will also conduct appraisals of product pricing and market penetration to maintain the Company’s competitive position. In addition, the position actively promotes and sells telecommunications services through direct customer engagement, community outreach, and local networking to support market growth and increase customer acquisition and retention.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure attainment of Company marketing and sales objectives and competitive position by developing marketing plans, programs, strategies, promotional materials, and digital content for new and existing services and products.
  • Respond to and engage existing and new customers regarding product and service availability, answer inquiries, and represent the Company in a professional manner during customer interaction and promotional events.
  • Actively promote and sell Company telecommunications services through direct customer interactions, including on-site, in-person visits within the service area.
  • Identify, qualify, develop, and pursue new sales opportunities and leads to support customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Participate in community outreach, events, and networking opportunities to promote services, represent the Company brand, and increase market presence.
  • Assist with sales training initiatives within the Customer Care department.
  • Support marketing and sales initiatives by organizing related collateral and coordinating promotional campaigns, including social media, email, and other marketing offerings.
  • Manage inventory of marketing materials and promotional items.
  • Implement or oversee implementation of marketing strategies in accordance with Company objectives.
  • Research markets and consumer trends, and prepare marketing and sales forecasts and service plans for market segments.
  • Establish measurements and controls to consistently monitor pricing strategies, market penetration, and sales volume, campaign metrics, and overall marketing and sales performance.
  • Prepare marketing and sales reports for review.
  • Utilize social media to build brand awareness, educate the public about Company products and services, and advertise promotions.
  • Assist with website content updates and basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) coordination.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance is an essential function of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training in marketing and sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have a valid Class C California driver’s license with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
    • Driving experience must have occurred after having passed a traffic laws and signs test.
    • If relocating to California from another state or country, must have, at a minimum, a valid driver’s license issued by the home state equivalent to a California Class C. The employee will be required to obtain a California driver’s license within ten days.
    • Must be insurable via the Company’s standard auto insurance policy procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of
    • Company policies, procedures, products, and services.
    • Industry regulations related to telecommunication services.
    • Basic marketing and sales principles, customer acquisition strategies, and service-based selling techniques.
    • Knowledge of local service area demographics and customer needs.
  • Skill to

    • Edit and proofread correspondence, procedures, and manuals.
    • Effectively write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; make persuasive and effective speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
    • Proficiently use software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as basic Internet operations.
    • Effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, as necessary to perform the essential function of the position.
    • Build rapport and effectively influence customer purchasing decisions throughin-person engagement.
    • Conduct needs assessments and recommend appropriate products and services.
    • Meet or exceed assigned marketing and sales goals and performance targets.
    • Plan and organize multiple tasks under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to

    • Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as statistical analysis and probabilities.

    • Analyze data and operational reports.

    • Represent the Company in the community.
    • Generate leads and convert prospects into customers through direct outreach and community engagement.
    • Work independently in a field-based environment with minimal supervision.
    • Adapt sales approach based on customer needs and market conditions.
    • Travel as required.
